Nixieclock kit V1.08 with tube board for 6 tubes
New software Version 6.2
With the new software the clock can show the date if DCF77 option is used. We have changed the software version so that US customers can now set the clock to 12/24hr mode and choose the US or European Date standard. (MM:DD:YY / DD:MM:YY).
These tubes have been tested with the V1.08a board:IN-16, IN-14, IN-8-2, CD66, CD61, GN6, ZM1080, ZM1170, ZM1172, ZM1174, ZM1230, ZM1232, ZM1175, ZM570, XN3, Z573M, Z574M. Of course there are much more tubes that can be soldered directly to the tube board.
The nixie clock is crammed full of features with a PIC microcontroller at its heart. The state of art design is powered from a low voltage adapter and has the ability to drive any nixie tubes including alphanumeric varieties. With its built in decoder there is the ability to add a DCF77 receiver for ultimate accuracy.
Now even showing the date if DCF77 option is used (No WWVB reception). Alternatively the clock can be line driven with automatic 50/60Hz detection. For complete flexibility, you can also drive the clock with an external 1Hz generator.
Two small push buttons allow for setting the time, selecting 12/24 hour mode and controlling the display dimmer.
Features
- Universal design with switchmode power supply, can drive any tubes
- tube saving routine - switch off the tubes during the night
- 5 different tube modes, (all included in software) 2 tubes, 4 tubes, 4
tubes
(dual anode), 6 tubes or 2 alphanumeric tubes
-
Power supplied from a low voltage plug in adapter (9 – 12V AC)
- Efficient multiplex design, saves space and enhances tube life
- Dimming mode with optional auto function
- Attractive digit crossfade
-
Built in DCF77 decoder for ultimate accuracy
- Showing the date in DCF77 mode (DCF77 option)
- Auto detection of 1Hz, 50Hz, 60Hz or DCF77 signal
- Selectable 12 / 24 hour display mode
- date format change (DD:MM:YY to MM:DD:YY)
- LED indicators for DCF77 signal, and PM
The Kit
All parts required to build the kit are supplied but no tubes, no power supply and no case. You will need standard electronic construction tools including soldering iron, cutters.
NEW - We now offer a GPS unit that will make this and all other nixieclocks made by us run on GPS time. The unit will be connected to the DCF77 input of the clock pcb and it will work will all our hardware.
The software must be version 5.8 or higher. So no new hardware or new software is needed for the nixie clock! It will also show temperature if a sensor is connected to GPS to DCF77 converter. Ask for more details on that unique unit.
Read the documentation of the clock kit V1.08 of the software version 6.2 on our webpage.
